Travel Grants/Short Term Scientific Missions (STSM)
At least once every year the Action will collect applications from postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, or employees of primate facilities who wish to visit another primate facility for up to 90 days (with the exception of the ECIs) but at least 5 days for the purpose of learning ABM/PRT techniques to take this knowledge back to their home affiliation.
The selection of applicants is carried out by the STSM coordinator or STSM Committee and will be based on the scientific scope of the STSM application that must be in line with the Action’s scientific objectives. Necessary geographical and gender balance issues will be taken into consideration and applications from Early Career Investigators (ECI) will be prioritised.
Specific provisions have been introduced to enable researchers from ITC participating in the respective COST Action to receive 50% of their STSM Grant when they complete the first day of their STSM. The remaining 50% of the Grant is payable once the administrative requirements have been satisfied.
Unless we will be able to rededicate left-over budget into this instrument, there will be no more STSM Calls.
